Stephen Johnston: Some time after writing the script for The Hillside Strangler, my wife and I were apartment hunting, and I realized the place we were looking at was next door to where one of the killers lived. I said, “Yeah, let’s find someplace else to live.”

Ed Naha: I became a rock writer because I submitted a demo tape of my band to a record label. I wrote short, snotty synopses of each song. The record company hated the tape but loved the writing. The folks there got me my first job as a record reviewer, giving me free albums.
